The Foothills Education and Technology Partnership based in Monrovia, California is a nonprofit corporation founded in 2003. We provide school districts low-cost high speed access to the California Research and Education Network.

More than 50,000 students and their teachers now enjoy fast and reliable access to the most advanced research network in the state, including researchers from CalTech, USC, Stanford, the University of California and the California State Universities.

As of the fall 2005, the Partnership provides high speed access to CalREN for the Arcadia, Duarte, Monrovia, Pasadena and San Gabriel school districts with Burbank joining our network in early 2006.

The Partnership is a registered Internet Service Provider with the Federal Communications Commission's Schools and Libraries Division. This enables school districts to use e-rate funds to pay for the Partnership's service at reduced rates.

To enroll, your district should list the Partnership as your Internet Service Provider when you apply for e-rate funds. You will apply for Internet service which includes purchase of a high-speed router and high speed telephone service from SBC or Verizon to the Partnership's router in Monrovia.

Since the Partnership is a registered ISP, you can use e-rate funds and California Teleconnect funds to discount the cost of your router and telephone link.

Costs very with the size of your district and speed of your link but F.E.T.P. can provide symmetrical T1, OS3 or OC3C or elegant circuits.
